Fireflies, Roots and Waves: A Soulful Nature Writing Retreat

Step into a gentle, luminous space where poetry, presence, journaling and nature meet. You are invited to slow down, listen, play and write freely from your heart with me. You receive unlimited access to this on-demand experience so you can go at your own pace and return as often as you'd like to.

What is included in this online retreat?

  • Fireflies, Roots & Waves is a self-paced journal writing retreat that invites you to pause, breathe, and listen to the quiet beauty of nature — and the wisdom within you. Through 30 soul-nourishing poems, I guide you with simple writing prompts, soothing meditations, and heartfelt practices to awaken your creativity and deepen your love for the earth.

    You’ll be invited to:

  • Listen to beautiful nature poems that I love and explore what they stir in your heart with intuitive, simple journal writing prompts

  • Take creative walks with a single word as your companion to see what you notice and then write about it!

  • Explore journal writing as a mindfulness practice to bring you closer to yourself and the world through love, wonder and gratitude

  • Explore your memories of nature that have shaped you throughout your life

  • Create moments of peace and inspiration in a variety of nature settings: your backyard, in parks, the woods or forest, along a river or lake or in a busy city walking by a tree.

This retreat is for those who love the natural world and want to play and explore with their creative voice in their journal. You can move through it at your own rhythm — one poem, one walk, one word at a time.

"I carry veins that consistently need nature injections. The indoors leave me distracted and half grasping for a way to have it again, lungs aching for air, feet needing to reground and eyes always searching for an open window, the sun streaming in, or the closest route to an inviting door. Tell me important things under the skies and trees and I'll soak them in. I'll remember.

Hi, I'm Emma Freeman.

I'm a Heart-Led Mixed Media Artist, Soul Writer, Reiki Practitioner and Teacher.

Art making has always been my sanctuary—a space where I can slow down, listen, play, explore and find a deeper connection to myself and the world.

I believe creative expression is love in action. I love creating with other people and sharing what we make from a place of joy, care and warmth. Show and tell is one of my favorite activities!

I am a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), sober and live in Wisconsin.

I’d love to share this writing journey with you!
