Soul Writing Sanctuary: Finding Our Way Through Grief and Loss (On-Demand)

“What if writing weren’t such a luxury? What if writing were a simple, significant, yet necessary way to achieve spiritual, emotional, and psychic wholeness?”

-Louise DeSalvo,

Writing as a Way of Healing: How Telling Our Stories Transforms Our Lives

-Gentle, intuitive writing practices to support you as you process loss and grief in your life.

-Beautiful, deep poems I have gathered from various poets that you can listen to, read and respond to prompts I have created.

-Guided meditations to support the expression and exploration of our emotions.

-Passages to spark contemplation and reflection on our grief and losses.

-Beautiful songs with writing prompts to connect us with the healing power of music to support the accessing and processing of our emotions.

-A gentle, warm space where you can share your writing with me if you want to that will be received with love, compassion and kindness, always.

-Soul companionship as you journey through your grief and losses.

"Those who undertake the full journey into their grief come back carrying medicine for the world."

-Francis Weller

What's Included within the Sanctuary Space:

I'm Emma Freeman, your guide through this writing sanctuary.

I'm a contemplative mixed media artist, poet, enthusiastic art teacher and massage therapist in Wisconsin. I am sober, a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and Buddhist.

It has been my own difficult journey through grief and loss that helped me discover gentle, supportive writing practices that have helped me express my heart and tend to the places inside of me that have needed care. I created this writing sanctuary to offer gentle creative practices for those going through a time of grief and loss in their lives. Each poem, prompt and practice I chose are meant to softly offer a way to enter your journal and be with what you feel in the moment, to honor your memories and experiences and to be in community with me and others who can relate to the personal heart journey of loss and grief.

May your heart feel held here.
